Custom Covers

Library Binding is now providing printed covers at the SAME PRICE as regular comic binding - just $15.

Custom Cover Examples

Covers must be large enough to allow a 1 inch turn-in on all sides. The height should be 12 1/2 inches. The width will vary with the number of comics being bound. To determine the width, you must first measure the thickness of the comics to be bound in the volume. First remove any pages or covers that you do not want bound in. Then press down on the books and measure the thickness of the spine. Finally you will ad 15 1/2 inches. This is the size of the front plus the back, plus turn-in. (6 3/4 + 6 3/4 + 1 + 1 = 15 1/2")

Example:
If the spine of the comics being bound is 2 inches,
Add 15 1/2" = 17 1/2"
The final width of your cover = 17 1/2"

You should extend the colors of your cover into the turn-in area, as shown in the sample. Because these areas will be folder over, it is best not to have text or any part of the image you want to be seen extend into this space. If there is a difference between the size of your artwork and the final bound volume, we can make adjustments. To allow us to do this, you must send your files to us as JPEGs. The image should be at a resolution of 350 dpi, on a disk (disk must be readable on a Mac) included with your order. On the binding slip write "custom cover" in the special instructions space. Also, indicate the filename on the disk that is to be used for the bound volume if you are sending in more than one volume at a time.

Again - the file must be a JPEG at 350dpi on a disk that can be read on a Mac
